Description: L’erotisme is a collection of short films many which feature erotica while most of them just push the boundaries of conventional filmmaking with their bizarre, grotesque and surreal imagery. While watching these short films you will see needles sowing orifices shut (Ritualis), a man who falls in love with a prostitute (Maldoror), a woman who plays with her ass for nine minutes (Ass), an overexposed blowjob scene (KI), razors, sadism and heightened colors schemes (La Fin de Notre Amour), a tale about rape and revenge (Extase de chair brisée), a toy baby doll is beaten and fondled (Baby Doll), a naked woman poses with a pig head (The Loneliest Little Boy in the World) and a woman who plays with herself with Black Sabbaths “Paranoid” as the soundtrack (Paranoid).

Time of the Gypsies (1988)

Goran Bregovic, born almost half a century ago to a Serbian mother and a Croatian father, was an idolized rock star in Tito's Yugoslavia with his band Bjelo Dugme before gaining international recognition with the soundtrack to "Time of the Gypsies". He has since written three major scores back to back for his fellow countryman, the acclaimed film director Emir Kusturica.

Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975)

The main title music, which plays a major role in creating the haunting atmosphere for which the film is remembered, comes from two traditional Romanian panpipe pieces, "Doina: Sus Pe Culmea Dealului" and "Doina Lui Petru Unc" with Romanian Gheorghe Zamfir on panpipe (or panflute) and Swiss born Marcel Cellier playing organ.

Director Peter Weir first heard Zamfir's music on the album Flutes de Pan et Orgue, originally released on the French Cellier label. Although the film was instrumental in popularising Zamfir's distinctive music, Weir later revealed that Zamfir refused to contribute original music for the film, forcing Weir to obtain the licencing rights for the tracks he had originally heard on the Cellier disc.

There is currently no official soundtrack commercially available, but I have managed to track down some identical - if not indeed the original compositions - that were used in the film, in particulary the main theme that is here entitled "Fantasy (Doina: Sus Pe Culmea Dealului)". I have also added some bonus tracks that are basically variations on the main theme. In other words, this is the most comprehensive soundtrack to "Picnic At Hanging Rock" available!

Description: Sometimes described as an “acid Western,” A Girl Is a Gun is certainly a weird trip. French New Wave icon Jean-Pierre Léaud stars as Billy the Kid, attempting to escape capture somewhere near the Mexican border. Billy the Kid is both ruthless and bumbling in this impressionistic French-made western. Ruthless, in that he tracks down a witness to a robbery and kills him in cold blood. Bumbling, in that he literally stumbles over things throughout the film.

The film removes all narrative pretext to concentrate on an intense and twisted relationship between a man and a woman in a bizarre, elemental wilderness. Also notable is the droning, psychedelic soundtrack by Moullet’s brother Patrice.

Regarding the audio tracks: "A Girl is a Gun is also dubbed into twangy English for most of its running time. It wasn't a decision foisted upon Moullet, but rather one he made for himself. It definitely adds to the weirdness."

Description: Peter Bogdanovich's Nickelodeon (1976) is a beautiful, earnest homage to the early days of filmmaking - the 1910's, the days of the old nickelodeons. Based partly on anecdotes from film pioneers like Raoul Walsh and Allan Dwan, the movie follows Leo Harrigan (Ryan O’Neal), an unsuccessful defense lawyer literally stumbles into a job as a screenwriter for the Kinegraph company. Description: It is difficult to describe a film so rich on content as Emir Kusturica's "Time of the Gypsies"; it is a tragedy in the most classical sense and in all its beauty a poetic statement about the fundemental things in life: love, guilt, death and revenege. Above all it is a rare insight in a gypsy community in the outskirts of Sarajevo, in former Yugoslavia. The story revolves around Perhan, a young Gyspy with telecinetic powers. He is determined to make things better for himself and his family but is seduced into a life of petty crime that threatens to destroy him and those he loves.

Widely considered to be Kusturicas best achievment and one of the most visually stunning and unique films of all times, few people know that it was originally shot as a miniseries of five episodes but later re-cut into the film that won Kusturica the best director award at the Cannes film festival of 1989. Here it is, the rarely seen miniseries presented in excellent quality with English subtitles!

Description: A young girl is raped while coming home from work. The trauma of the attack turns her away from her parents and her fiancée, and, unable to face society, she runs away and, using an assumed name, takes a job on an orange ranch.

Ida Lupino was one of the few women to break through as woman and director under the studio system in Hollywood. Not surprisingly, she also tackled proto-feminist themes that, when touched at all, were approached in so gingerly a manner that it was seldom quite clear what was being talked about. In "Outrage", she treats rape and its aftermath, and though throughout the short movie it's referred to as `criminal assault,' she leaves, for once, no doubt about what happened.
