Description: The Runeberg family is an ordinary middle class family, with a house in a suburb, a car and three children. They rent a house at the sea for their annual summer vacation in the hopes of loosing some of the tension that has been building up between Rune and Gunnel. However, instead of spending time with his family, Rune finds himself attracted to a young man, Petrus. Caught in a loveless marriage without the courage to break free, Rune realizes that whatever happens next, things will never be the same again.

This movie marks one of Susanne Bier's greatest achievments as a director. It is written by Jonas Gardell, author and comedian, openly homosexual and one of Sweden's greatest talents. Unfortunately this film is still awaiting the proper international release that it deserves. So meanwhile I have taken the time to write the English subtitles myself. If you're a sucker for tragicomical dramas dealing with under-the-surface kind of stuff this is a must-see! Ripped from the Swedish DVD.
